A 8 year old Magician, Starbucks, and Shopping

I had a date Wednesday night.

It went ok, but I was done and in my car by 10:30...

(I've had 2 dates this week that have ended in the 10 time range.  Dating... SO FUN!)

The time a date ends is always a sign as to how it went.

But this is not why I'm blogging!

Before I began my belated date, I played with my friend Chels.

We are practically in a long distance relationship 

since there is an hour and 1/2 between us.

And Salt Lake is a perfect meeting spot.

This little tike was ADORABLE!  He was 8 and he was working the corner with his magic tricks.  He actually had some good ones.  Sure stumped me...

Librarian Tuesday

Today I was a Librarian.

I only teach part time so I have every other day off.

I subbed for the librarian at my school.

It was delightful.

Surrounded by books.

Hours and hours to plan.

I was so impressed with the students at my school.

During every break, and also lunch,

Herds came into the library

Looking for books.

All of them were checking out books to read.

Yes, just to read for fun!

I have noticed it in my classroom as well.

Any time there is down time (which really rarely happens, but sometimes),

Out comes the books.

Reading for pleasure, no assignment attached.

I was in Jr. High when I first discovered books.

My first love was "Gone With the Wind".

Call me a little weird or nerdy,

Call me a bit of a drama queen...

But I dressed up when I read that book.

I would put on all of the most fanciest of necklaces,

Drape a scarf around my head,

and top it off with something made of fur.

Then I would find a secret place

(Usually my closet or the play house)

And read...

It was beautiful,

Even though Gone with the Wind is like the most tragic romance ever written.

It's just good to see that libraries and library cards are still being used.

This is my main man these days. I look at "Henry" and see the man I want. A rocking mustache. I like facial hair.... Judge me.

My head is in the clouds apparently

Let me tell you about a dream I had on Friday...

I've forgotten about most of the details,

As that usually happens with dreams.

But the coolest part I remember.

I was sitting on a cloud

With my best friend Mandie.

We were sitting there noticing how the cloud felt.

It felt remarkably similar to cotton candy

And we were completely comfortable

Just sitting there enjoying our nice cushiony spot.

There were also fighter jets (who were being run by our X's)

But this couldn't dampen our fantastic sitting on top of the cloud.

Then there was a a cloud drifting by with an Australian man

For some reason I knew his name

I said: "Hello there Dougy!" 

In an Australian accent of course.

There also was at some point a room with Obama and JFK talking to each other, but I really can't remember how it all tied in.

So Now I'm AWAKE.

It's Saturday.

I go to this thing with my friend Chels

where she will be filmed.

The girl filming her is.....

(Rolling drums)

Australian!

I tell her about my dream.

Guess what her dad's name is?

Dougy.

"Ugh, I'm so white"

We've all heard it.

"Ugh, I'm so white!  I need to go tanning."

I'll admit it.

I used to be one of those girls.

I felt pressured to feel like I needed to be tan.

But the following is how my skin reacts to high amounts of sun or UV rays:

-I get hives that itch and are highly uncomfortable

-I get a blotchy uneven sunburn as apposed to a glowing tan

-Many times I've had sunburns that kill, I mean kill

-After my sunburn fades, there is only freckles that replace it

Also, I just frankly didn't like tanning beds.  I felt like I was being baked in an oven.  And you stink after.  Ugh.

So I came to the conclusion like 2 years ago that white skin was ok for me.  I hate to admit it, but there was one book that highly contributed to this new embracing in my life: Twilight.  If vampires rocked it, why couldn't I?  I like fair skin.  I like not seeking constantly after the next tanning bed.  I think fair skin is pretty.  I think it's elegant.

This is the lady I nannied for 2 summers ago

She attempted acting most of her life

First time I met her I said: "Wow, you're gorgeous"

She was obsessed with keeping her skin white

She would keep sun screen with her at all times

Oh how I love Zooey

Her white skin fits her

Don't know who this girl is but she's gorgeous

Despite the fact that I'm not a huge fan of her acting

And I can't understand how she'd cheat on her husband Ryan Renalds

I do think she rocks the white elegant look
